Here is my problem with a WIA TWAIN driver and my app.
When a bunch of pages is inserted in the ADF of the Brother MFC-8840D and I initiate a scan it pulls all pages and returns just the bitmap of the last page in native mode. Also Memmode has the problem. It is a WIA driver. Seems that some applications have the problem as mine but some others can deal with it. Any clue?
Try a memory tranfer mode … especially if some others applications works well …
Check from the source code of TWACK_32 if there is a workaround, but basically, why are you using WIA interface instead of TWAIN ?November 1, 2005 at 6:21 pm in reply to: Twain Drive for HP Laserjet 3030 Mutifunctional device #23142
Somewhere in C:Windowstwain_32 … but maybe on the HP install CD, you must run a special installation program to have it properly installed … HP support should answer to you …
The profiles are simply INI files stored in the “KofaxKPMTWDS Profiles” folder in the Windows folder. The name of the INI file is the name of the Profile.
Thanks, I will try to make something integrated based on this … 8)
I’ve upgraded from 5.9 to 6.61 version, and it seems to react normally now, but with some new problems, for example it doesn’t accept anymore a MSG_RESET before a MSG_DISABLEDS … 😕
So the source can never be disable, and of course everything goes wrong after that …
I tried to call Kodak support but I still have no direct contact yet.
I’ve made some test with VRS 4.0 SP1 for the i620 and it works perfectly, the only thing I can complain is that the VRS driver seems to hide too much capabilities from the Kodak driver (the extra information from the TWAIN driver are empty so I can’t retreive some like page number, document number etc etc), and I didn’t find a way to manage VRS profiles directly through my application yet (ie I don’t want the user to handle profiles manually) …
That would be a question for Canon. My memory of the DR-2080C is that the autodetect feature is not exposed via the standard TWAIN mechanisms for doing this so.Jon Harju
Well, actually the TWAIN GUI should present this feature (custom or not) to the user …
And if I remember the behavior of the 5020 and the 9080 this feature was available in the GUI.

That’s a flatbed scanner right ?
If so, I had some troubles like this with my Agfa too, the problem was the locker for transport that sometimes stays in locked position if I move the scanner too often … if it is not the locker, maybe something is broken … did you try to make it work in another computer ?
The only thing I’d add is that many scanners that say they support compressed memory transfers, is that the compression is usually done in their DS – which tends to be poorly implemented. this translates to slow throughput. the better scanners, or high end, support on board compression.
Right, and be careful too if you use JPEG compression that some will use an old-jpeg 😕 format and some other the normal (new) jpeg/exif format no real standard capability in the spec to specify that.
