Ok, I am able to install the sample WIA driver that comes with WIA on TWAIN by using this command:
devcon install wiadriver.inf WIAONTWAIN_DRIVER_PNP_ID
Everything installs and I can scan using a WIA supported application, such as MSPaint.
However, if I compile the sample WIA driver source that comes with WIA on TWAIN and replace the pre-built WIA_ON_TWAIN.DLL with a freshly compiled version and re-install the drivers then scanning no longer works. It installs just fine, but if I try to scan I get a “Unable to retrieve picture from device. Verify the device is properly connected and try again” right away when trying to scan in MSPaint. If I try to view the properties of the scanner I get the error “Unable to display properties for the selected device”.
I’m building using Visual Studio 2008 SP1, compiling in Release 32bit mode. The file size between the pre-built and my compile is around 500 bytes difference.
Has anyone else had issues with the included source? Any ideas how to fix this?
