For 10 years, I’ve been using my Epson scanner with Photoshop in near perfect accord. Last week it crapped out displaying the following error:
“Could not open the TWAIN source. Make sure there is a valid source for your scanner in the TWAIN directory found in the Windows directory.”
Epson tried but couldn’t help since the scanner works fine through MS Paint and it’s own wizard. Trying to seek help from Adobe appears to be laughable. I installed the latest Twain driver from Epson to no avail. The only thing that I think could have happened was something went wrong when I (successfully) installed new internet security software. I’ve done nothing else to my scanner set up.
What is a valid Twain source? My scanner? Where would I find my Twain/Windows directories, and how would I get my ‘Twain source’ back into it?
See “C:Windowstwain_32”
You will need to place the .ds files for your scanner there.
