I am building an application that uses 4 separate but identical model scanners for pattern recognition. I am running into a problem of accessing more than one scanner at a time. Only one twain entry shows up in the select source screen and even though all 4 WIA entries show up, only the first selected one works.
I’ve seen somewhere around here that someone has previously used registry hacking to get around a similar issue with duplicate image sources. Can anyone help me with this problem?
No help really as there are several technical issues to overcome.
Typically TWAIN DS use the first recognized USB device of that scanner. I have never seen DS which allow a scanner selection by serial number.
Right now the only idea I have is to use a network scanner. Here typically the DS allows the IP address and you can choose one of your 4 scanners.
This allows you to scan with one of the 4 models at the time.
Parallel scanning via TWAIN is impossible.
Makes it sense?
