Hi all
Is it possible with Twain …. and therefore an ActiveX control written to the stanadard … to get the name of the ACTUAL device ?
ie if you have two epson scanners attached to the same machine I don’t think you necessarly will get two options in the “select source” dialog box because they use the same Twain driver ??
Also I am looking at a Twain ActiveX control from VintaSoft. Anyone got any good/bad reportas on them ?
Thanks in advance
Andrew

guess that depends on what you mean by name – you don’t name them like you do your printers, but if by name you mean product name, product family, manufacturer or any of the other info in the tw_identity structure then yes.if I have two epsons and they are slightly different make/model, even if they use the same driver, I will get two seperate entries and I can identify them, but if they are identical models then no.
no idea for VintaSoft, i’m using my own library
Thanks again gabe 🙂
