There is a nice software package called Scan to PDF that scans muliple sheets into one PDF file. According to the developers, the first thing it does is load the scanner twain drivers into memory. This program runs flawlessly on my Windows 7 x64 Home Premium PC that I got from the factory.
This software will not, however, run on an identical PC that is an upgrade to Windows 7 x64 from Vista x64. The twain drivers simply will not load and I am stumped. I’ve uninstalled the scanner drivers and the Scan to PDF software will launch, but as soon as I install the drivers, Scan to PDF will not launch. Something about the upgrade to Windows 7 is inhibiting loading the twain drivers. I even did a repair installation of Windows 7
to no avail. Same results. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
Did you get any error message when opening the Scan to PDF software? Did you try the software on Vista x64? If yes, what is the result?
Adam,
I solved the problem by doing a custom (clean) install of Windows 7 on the offending PC. To specifically answer your question: No, there were no error messages displayed. As we all know, upgrades of operating systems can produce varying results. Ferreting out these anomalies can consume enormous amounts of time. I learned my lesson about upgrading the operating system.
Thanks for your update.
