Hi
In my academic project I have one scanning module. For this we are using your java implementation of TWAIN driver. But in my project I have one requirement of scanning page in duplex mode with 200 dpi in color. As well as I want to scan single page in Color and black & white in duplex mode means one page will generate four images. Two color images front and back, two images for black and white with front and back. Means I want to scan in multi-stream mode or dual-stream. And saving color image in JPG format and b/w image in PNG format.
I am using your API for scanning. I am not getting how to set property for multi-stream scanning. Please tell me any idea how can I set it. Also I want to set GAMMA property to scanned color image. Does API support JPEGCompression for color image?
Please reply me as soon as possible. Thanks

This should be set on the TWAIN driver (I use Kodak scanners for that), it will generate the images you want in the order you want, you need to know (on the applications side) what you are doing (ie first image = color front, second = color back, third = bw front and so on).
Better way is to scan full resolution jpeg compressed an let the application work on the pages afterwards to determine if each page should be converted to greyscale, black and white and so on, and to reduce resoluton on the greyscale and color pages if required. Even better is to use like PDF/A Compact which compressed colorpage way down, if not much data on them it is nearly like black and white scans. Then you are not dependent on specific scanners supporting multiimage scans, there is alos difference in functionallity and many limitations in the scanners if “mulit-image” is enable. Thrust me, stay away from it for a long time yet.
