Epson GT-6500 / W98 / 6433eu.zip Epson Twain drivers
Believe problem may have followed clean install of operating system (though could have happened before … and not noticed … and so be completely unrelated)
SYMPTOMS:
Click Acquire:
– Scanner activates and “ready” light goes on
– then get error message “Scanner not ready. Check scanner is turned on” followed by “An error has occurred in Epson Twain”QUESTION:
Whilst it is possible this could be a hardware problem – what are the likely twain errors please … most especially those affecting Window’s ability to detect hardware?
– it appears that windows is not detecting the scanner properly
INFORMATION:
– clean uninstalled epson twain
– installed latest version (6433eu.zip)
– checked win.ini and set as C:WINDOWSTWAIN_32EPFBESTWN32.DS
– checked autoexec.bat and set as C:WINDOWSTWAIN_32EPFB– GT-6500 activates on boot-up and “ready” light goes on
– During installation, Epson Twain Setup opens on “No device selected”:
… Manually set for Bid Parallel/378 – run test .. no response
– However, does partially respond from “Epson Twain Setup” in Control Panel – i.e. activates on click open and “ready” light goes on etc (though still no response from run test)CMOS – ECP + EPP (as before)
+ tried new cables
– tried new hardware wizard … scanner activated + “ready” light during detection process … but not detected by wizard!!It’s one of those niggling problems which hopefully might be a known problem – any help most welcome.
Many thanks,
