I have installed, uninstalled, spent hrs on the phone with the MFP OEM re this problem to no avail. I have a Konica-Minolta which worked on Win 7 Pro x64 for over a year; even through some of the Win 7 RC months until Win 7 release. Something had to mess up the Windows Twain settings; here are the symtoms:
WIA works great, but as any serious scanning user knows, if you use WIA you cannot expect to do things such as use a duplex ADF or RADF to scan duplex docs.
What happens when Twain is now used is that it scans one page, or one side, but kills whatever app is managing the scan; I generally use Adobe Acrobat, currently v9.4.0. An error is generated on the MFP saying it cannot communicate with the PC; I hit any key twice to clear the error, then try again to get the same error result. I have another Win 7 partition on a laptop which works great with the MFP in Twain scanning.
I have a Win XP Pro partition on the same desktop as the Win 7 Pro; the XP scans like a champ; like the Win 7 did before the glitch.
The Scanner is on the local peer to peer net. It is too far from any of the workstations to hook up USB to see if anything different happens.
Since the OEM Scanner setup works on the others, did work on partition is does not, it leads me to believe firmly that the only fix would be if I could find a way to uninstall the current Twain setup in the OS, and find a way to reinstall the Twain setup that the OS uses.
The OS is Windows 7 Pro x64.
Could anyone help me fix this from this oasis of Twain gurus? 😀 😀 😀
Thanks,
