Hello,
I bought the scanner Microtek XT 3300.
My questions:
1. I dont understand why the installation of Microtek ScanWizard DI (TWAIN) worked at my laptop and failed at PC?
2. If the problem is the driver: Which driver do I need? Where can I get it.
3. Is ScanPotter Microtek for Windows or only for Mac. As far I learned in Internet, it is only related to Mac?

On the Laptop / Windows Vista:
1. Installation of Microtek ScanWizard DI (TWAIN) worked.2. If I start with: Abbyy FineReader Sprint 9.0
a. Selecting the scanner ScanWizard DI (TWAIN)
b. If I try to start to scan, I get this fault indications:
Þ Abbyy FineReader 9.0 Sprint:
“initialicing of th scanner failed”
“The application has not found any scanner software installed on your computer. This means that you cannot scan documents. You can exit the program an install scanner drivers.”Þ Microtek Scanner Manager: “A scanner could not be found. Try to find a Scanner by SCSI-Test”
c. The SCSI-Test gives the following interface-informations: plug-in card: MS-STI / interface ID: “Still Image Device” / data access in: “unknown” / base adress at: 0 / status: “plug-in card is ready for operation”
3. ScanPotter Microtek: Installation did not work. Fault indications:
a. “Insert Data Medium” although data medium is inserted
b. Data Medium check produces: “Check could not executed, medium is not formated – formating the medium, all dates will be lost”
On the PC / Windows7:
Installation of Microtek ScanWizard DI (TWAIN) and ScanPotter Microtek was NOT possible: Fault indications in bouth cases: “Microsoft Windows: Access to the data medium is not possible. May be the format of the data medium can not be recogniced by windows. First formation ist necessary”

Your question is very Microtek specific. You might have luck that some user can help with his experience but it is not a general TWAIN issue.
You may try to contact Microtek direct for support.

At least
Microtek ScanWizard DI (TWAIN)
seems to have a link to TWAIN.
What could it be? Can you exclude it is a driver.
